DiPText-KC is pleased to announce that both the ECHOES Consultation for becoming part of the ECHOES Cultural Heritage Cloud Initiative and the 1st Call for Application of the ECHOES Cascading Grants Programme are now live and available.

ECHOES – European Cloud for Heritage OpEn Science is a project aiming at developing a European Cultural Heritage Cloud as a shared platform for heritage professionals and researchers to access data, innovative scientific and training resources and advanced digital tools.
ECHOES is funded under the Horizon Europe Programme in the five-year period 2024-2029.
CLARIN is one of its beneficiary partners.

ECHOES Consultation: help shape the Cultural Heritage Cloud

The ECHOES Consultation aims to map diverse Cultural Heritage communities, understanding their needs and expectations for the Cultural Heritage Cloud.
Your contributions will help shape the Cloud with and for Cultural Heritage communities.
As a first step, an online questionnaire (https://www.echoes-eccch.eu/echoes-consultation) was launched to identify Cultural Heritage professionals and researchers and explore their use of digital tools in daily work.
The results will guide the development of the Cloud infrastructure, tools, services, training and community-building efforts.

Who can participate?

All cultural heritage stakeholders, including professionals, researchers, computer scientists, developers, institutions and umbrella organisations can participate.

Deadline

The questionnaire will remain open until 30/04/2025.

ECHOES Cascading Grants: funding opportunity for Cultural Heritage institutions

The 1st Call for Applicaton of the ECHOES Cascading Grants Programme supports Cultural Heritage institutions in contributing datasets for use within the Cultural Heritage Cloud.
Proposals should define the dataset intended user community, purpose, expected outcomes and broader benefits.
Applicants should also outline how they envision using the Cloud for their project.

Funding

Funding may reach up to € 60,000 for a maximum of 12 projects.

Who can apply?

Any Cultural Heritage institution based in a Horizon Europe country, either independently or as the lead partner of a consortium, can apply.
Applications from small, medium-sized and under-resourced Cultural Heritage institutions as well as interdisciplinary consortia are particularly encouraged.

Deadline

Proposals must be submitted by 15/05/2025 (23:59 CEST).

How to apply?

The submission platform will be open in April 2025 and an Info Day will be organised in the next few weeks.
